On 27.06.2024, DB Gebrauchtzug used 111 074 “Hilde” to transfer the “new” double-deck train in Touristik livery from Nuremberg to North Rhine-Westphalia. In the morning, Hilde fought her way through the dense greenery of Heidingsfeld, passing the River Main in the direction of Würzburg. The set will be used during the European Football Championships on the “EM24” Dortmund—Cologne line:

About this design

The blues, yellow and green of the ‘Touristik’ livery are an artsy/abstract representation of a summery landscape. This colour scheme had two sets of coaches and three locomotives: the electric 103 220 and the diesel locomotives 218 416+418. The tourist trains ran from 1995 until 2001.

DB Gebruachtzug has adopted the idea of drawing more attention to its fleet by reusing iconic livery designs from its mother company’s past. And so, the Touristik design returned in 2022. 111 074 ‘Hilde’ got it, 218 443 ‘Donna’ got it, double-deck coaches got it.

Below are some portraits of the coaches – on these, extra colours have been added to the dark blue bottom part of the design:
