Bulk Transshipment Slovakia (BTS), established in 2007, operates transshipment facilities at the Čierna nad Tisou border crossing station on Slovakia’s eastern border. The company is a joint venture between Budamar Logistics and Železničná spoločnosť Cargo Slovakia.
BTS specializes in the transshipment, loading, unloading, and transfer of various commodities. It uses transshipment centers equipped with integrated rotary tipplers and fully automated technology. During winter, they offer defrosting services in two halls and provide technical humidification to prevent cargo freezing during transport.
Since 2009, the company has been a licensed rail transport operator, managing a fleet of +/- 40 electric and diesel locomotives.
On January 17, 2025, CZ Loko published a first picture of a modernized class 774.7 diesel locomotive (a.k.a. ‘Effishunter 1600’). Two machines are on order for shunting operations at the transshipment terminal in Čierna nad Tisou, eastern Slovakia, where they will serve the broad-gauge section of the rail yard.
