It’s a long saga. During InnoTrans 2016, ÖBB and Bombarider signed a framework agreement for 300 Talent 3 EMUs. After two call-offs and a series of delays, now the story continues: BMK has issued a temporary permit so ÖBB can start trial operation with passengers with the Talent 3 EMUs.
Let’s recap first. So far, under the large framework of 300, in total 46 electric multiple units have been ordered:
- 21 x Vorarlberg region
- 25 x Tyrol region (including six of them for cross-border traffic to Italy)
