It took some creativity to get the nose section on its place – it has not been fixed yet – but these images give a pretty good first impression of the design of Siemens’ new Mireo passenger train.
Siemens has received multiple orders for its new light weight passenger train for regional services. An overview:
- Baden-Württemberg Netz 4 – Rheintalbahn – operator: DB Regio
- Baden-Württemberg Netz 6b – S-Bahn Rhein-Neckar – operator: DB Regio
The Mireo may also become the basis for Siemens’ hydrogen train design, which is under development in cooperation with RWTH Aachen and Ballard Power Systems.
In social media:
Proudly present our 1st car body of the #Mireo for Rhine Valley. Today, we have started the final assembly of the very 1st train of our new regional train platform. For our celebrations we have faked it a bit – the nose has not been finally fixed yet. ☺ https://t.co/3WMHdW3i6o pic.twitter.com/1BRVS32WI0
