Stadler Pankow and Siemens, they are going to develop and build the next generation S-Bahn trains for the German city of Berlin. Which was officially announced 22.12.2015. The consortium, led by Stadler Rail will initially supply 106 trains; 85 sets will come as 4-car compositions (‘Halbzuge’), 21 sets will be 2-car trains (‘Viertelzuge’). All trains will have air conditioning, a novelty to the city. Of course they will be equipped with modern passenger information and provide level access.
