Two silver, one blue, now it’s the turn for the white one. MKB has put Northrail’s fourth Vectron Dual Mode into service in its fleet.

In 2021, Mindener Kreisbahnen became the second carrier to put Vectron Dual Mode locomotives into regular service (Railsystems RP was the first).

In 2024, two became four. The third started operating in January, and the fourth entered service in March. Current fleet:

  • 248 005 and 006 in silver from 2021 – delivered directly to MKB;
  • 248 073 and 069 in white, on lease from Northrail.

Now, 069 has MKB branding. The design is similar to the first two, the difference being the basic white livery instead of silver. The trio of electric locomotives (the silhouettes) has been replaced by one diesel and one steam machine. It has thus a different slogan: “Vom Dampf über Diesel bis Dual… 125 Jahre BahnSinn!
