[passenger] ÖBB official: Railjet gen.2 enters service – 27 trains on order

On 22.03.2023, Siemens and ÖBB officially announced the start of operation of the Railjet generation 2 passenger trains, also referred to as ‘DANI day’ trains. Eight sets of nine coaches were ordered in 2018 and put into service in 2022 but were delayed. ÖBB also confirms that it has ordered 19 extra sets, which Railcolor confirmed in December 2023.
