The new Railjet 2 trains are ready to show their worth on the Austrian tracks before crossing the border into Italy. The new Nightjets, on the other hand, test in the Bel Paese.
In Austria, the Easter holidays begin on 22 March. To ensure enough seats for the passengers who usually crowd the trains, ÖBB has expanded its offer.
In particular, the company will use the new-generation Railjet on the following connections on the western route:
- Friday 22 March: IC 19782 from Vienna Central to Feldkirch (13:35 / 20:37);
- Saturday 23 March: IC 19780 from Vienna Central to Feldkirch (8:45 / 16:34);
- Sunday, 24 March: IC 19781 from Feldkirch to Vienna Central (12:55 / 20:15);
- Thursday, March 28: IC 19782 from Vienna Central to Feldkirch (13:35 / 20:37);
- Friday, 29 March: IC 19784 from Vienna Central to Feldkirch (13:35 / 20:37);
- Saturday, March 30: IC 19780 from Vienna Central to Feldkirch (8:45 / 16:33);
- Monday 1 April: IC 19781 from Feldkirch to Vienna Central (12:55 / 20:15).
That’s not all. The new trains, which will replace the current Eurocity compositions, are expected to begin international service with Italy in April.
