As we wrote last week, the arrival of the three Vectron locomotives for Italian freight company GTS Rail was upon us. Today they arrived in Italy. They reached Tarvisio Boscoverde in the morning, from where they were moved to Piacenza. It is expected that 191 043, 044, and 045 will arrive in Bari tomorrow, the hometown of GTS Rail.
Like the other locomotives in GTS Rail its fleet, the three 191s have a name:
- 191 043 “Penelope”;
- 191 044 “Muvt” (which is slang from the Puglia regions and translates to “Hurry Up” or “Move yourself”);
- 191 045 “Galileo”.
The purchase of the three Vectrons also includes a maintenance contract. GTS Rail has its own maintenance facilities in Bari.
