At this moment, CAF is delivering new Sprinter trains to the Dutch railways (NS). We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the first Alstom ICNG in the Netherlands. In Haarlem, NS Operatie Treinmodernisering is still working on the mid-life refurbishment of the VIRM fleet. But, that is the now. NS is already developing and testing new interior solutions for the foreseeable future; new ideas that could be used for any new type of train. A possible application could be the next generation of Intercity trains. NS is considering a mixed configuration of single and double-deck cars, to combine easy access with extra capacity.
