It’s there. British operator Abellio Greater Anglia has been waiting for the first of its new toys to arrive at one of its depots, and the 14th January 2020 is the day when it finally happened. Bombardier Derby delivered the first Class 720 Aventra electric multiple unit (EMU) to the operator’s Ilford depot, in eastern England.
The first train to be delivered to Greater Anglia is unit number 720.509, one of 111 Aventra trains ordered by the company for the commuter lines in and around the counties of Essex, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire.
