Last weekend, it was an ELL-Vectron, hired to SBB Cargo International, that took the AlpenExpress from Venlo to Bludenz. Yesterday, for the first time, a new Südleasing locomotive had to honor to bring many, mostly Dutch, travelers, to the Alps. The A22-Vectron is theoretically capable of taking the train all the way from/to Amsterdam, its starting point, but currently there is still a speed restriction for the machines in the Netherlands. This means a RailExperts 1600-electric (no.9901) is used for the Amsterdam-Venlo section of the route.
