Siemens is delivering Desiro HC double-deck EMUs for the Rhine-Ruhr Express (RRX). In December 2018, 15 of them were the first ones to be introduced. A year later, the fleet is growing even further, last weekend the ‘462’ took over on the RE 6.
On 15.12.2019 Siemens Mobility announced that 18 further, newly-built EMUs will be joining the existing fleet of the RRX. These trains are being deployed on the RE 6 line, also known as “Rhein-Weser-Express”. It connects Cologne and the Bonn Airport with the city Minden in Germany.
Previously (on 09.12.2018), the first 15 trainsets started operation on the RE 11 line, which connects Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen, Dortmund, Hamm, Paderborn, and Kassel.
