After years of waiting and failed attempts, the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) is finally initiating a fleet renewal program for its Passenger Services division. Previously, long-distance EMUs were expected to be in the focus. Now, the operator has shifted its strategy and will be looking for brand new electrics.
