On Monday 11.02.2019, the French minister for transport Elisabeth Borne signed the contract for the CDG Express concession, a future railway service linking Parisian Roissy Airport with Paris-Gare de l’Est station.
This article was published on 15.02.2019 and updated on 19.08.2019 after Alstom confirmed they will deliver Coradia Polyvalent trains, and not Coradia Liner units as was widely reported.
The new line will serve Roissy CDG Terminal 2 daily, from 5 am until midnight, with 4 trains per hour. It’ll take 20 minutes to complete the 32 km journey from the Paris-Est station to the airport. At present, the quickest trip from Paris-Nord (which is located not far from Paris-Est) takes 30 minutes on an express RER line B train.
