It has been a while; in 2015 the Belgian railways (NMBS/SNCB) closed a deal with Bombardier and Alstom for the delivery of a new generation of double-deck intercity trains. The first coaches were scheduled to enter service in 2018, but the project has seen several setbacks – now 2019 should be the year during which the M7-generation will make its debut.
