On 22.08.2018 DB Regio and the Bavarian authorities jointly presented locomotive 146 245 in its new ‘Bahnland Bayern’ livery.
Edit: we accidentally switched numbers here, 245 is the new one, 246 got its livery in 2014
A common sight maybe, as the design is very similar compared to the one applied on 146 246 from 2014. Biggest difference is the additional ‘100 Jahre Freistaat Bayern’ on the sides of the locomotive. The 100th anniversary of the state is the main reason to release this special design.
146 245 will be operated on the lines Nürnberg – Regensburg – München and München – Passau.
BTW, Impressive figures from the press statement released today by the Bayerischen Eisenbahngesellschaft (BEG). Since the local authority took over the responsibility for its railways from the federal government, back in 1996, the number of train services has grown by 50%. Ridership numbers are up 70% compared to 22 years ago.
