[AT] ‘Stille Nacht – Heilige nacht’ – SETG brings more music to the rails

SETG is a rail freight operator from Salzburg, Austria. Since 2014 it is leasing several Vectron locomotives, that are being operated on routes connecting Germany, Austria with Central European countries. Meanwhile, SETG has introduced several promotional liveries on its locomotives and we see a trend; Many themed designs clearly show the operator’s love for music. This was again confirmed last weekend with the presentation of ELL 193 219 ‘Stille Nacht – Heilige nacht’.

On 15.12.2017 SETG presented ELL locomotive 193 219 in its new full livery. The ELL colours are now replaced by the SETG livery in green and white, combined with images about and the text of the famous Christmas song ‘Stille Nacht – Heilige nacht’ (English: ‘Silent night’). In 2018, this song will be 200 years old.

Joseph Mohr, who wrote the text in 1816, asked Franz Gruber to write a melody to go with it and as such it was first performed at the St. Nikolauskerk in Oberndorf, near Salzburg. SETG invited the major of this Austrian village last Friday to reveal the new design.

In 2018, Roco will bring out a scale model of the design. During the presentation, SETG also handed over a 5.000 euro cheque to the Salzburger Kinderkrebshilfe.
