In 2016, Bombardier and Abellio Greater Anglia made public that they closed a deal for new Aventra trains for the East Anglia rail franchise in the United Kingdom. 665 coaches will be built (future designated will be class 720) and Bombardier will be responsible for their maintenance over the first seven years after delivery. Angel Trains will be the owner of the vehicles and lease them to Abellio.
Abellio is the holder of East Anglia rail franchise since October 2016. The new Aventras will arrive between January 2019 and September 2020.
