[passenger] “Klassiekjes” in Italy scrapped
In Italy, four railway companies bought railcars 054/055/056 from the Belgian railway SNCB during the 1990s. All units are out of service today. Those of GTT have all been scrapped or are being scrapped in Ciriè. The same fate befell those of LFI being demolished in San Giuliano d’Arezzo. The only survivors are those of FER set aside in Modena Piazza Manzoni and those of TUA (formerly Sangritana) set aside in the Lanciano depot. The latter are the only ones that have undergone major modifications, including a cab change. They are also the only ones that have never entered service.]

The first of three carriages has now arrived in Sweden, and it is expected to enter service in 2025, pending approval for international traffic. In SJ’s system the coaches are classified as RB8DE.

[passenger] DB Gebrauhtzug: Unreliable ICE-3m for sale
Deutsche Bahn’s ICE3M / class 406 high-speed trains are now available for sale to interested buyers. Designed for international routes, they offer 330 km/h speed, multi-system compatibility, and premium comfort. They are ideal for operators seeking modern, efficient cross-border rail solutions. Contact us for details and availability. In our opinion, this is a bold offer. DB is retiring these trains due to their unreliability and the fact that they can no longer be upgraded to the latest technological standards at a reasonable cost.
