A belated Christmas present? An expensive present to self – In the first week of January 2025, Siemens delivered nine new Vectron locomotives in one go to railfreight operator TX Logistik: 7193 307-309, 311, 313-314, 316 and 319.
2 machines look different?
9 packages with 6.4 MW each. 7 in standard packaging, white with large grey TXL logos. Two stand out: 7193 308 is aligned with the TXL multi-year heavy metal music theme featuring large ‘Born to Rail’ logos. 7193 313 is the new Kassel Huskies locomotive, supporter of the Kassel ice hockey team (!). TX Logistik used 185 540 (below) for years for this purpose, but this locomotive was sold to SRI Railinvest in 2023. The nine locomotives are part of an order for 40 locomotives announced in 2023.
What is more to come?
TX Logistik now has four locomotives with non-standard liveries, and we don’t think it will stop there. TX Logistik has consistently proven to be full of fresh and colorful ideas. We can’t think of any operator with so many different designs and themes on their locomotives. By the end of 2025, all 40 locomotives are set to be delivered, so it’s worth keeping an eye out!
