[passenger] No hydrogen trains for Netz Düren parts 2 – Go.Rheinland redirects funds to buy battery trains

 

go.Rheinland has decided to bundle the operation of the “Dürener Stern” network, which includes the RB 21, RB 23, and RB 28 train lines, into a single contract. Starting December 2025, the new contract will run for at least 12 years. This announcement follows shortly after go.Rheinland decided to abandon the plan to use fuel-cell technology on this network. So, what will come instead of the hydrogen trains?
