The locomotive can serve as a mobile advertising banner, seen by thousands of people daily. This PKP Intercity locomotive is the latest example.
At the end of October 2024, ‘Husarz’ locomotive EU44 009 of Polish state operator PKP Intercity was given a new green and gold livery. The locomotive promotes the American musical film Wicked, now arriving in cinemas worldwide.
The livery is primarily green, representing the film’s main character, the witch Elphaba Thropp. Golden cogs and other steampunk-like details are complemented by the film’s logos and release date.
What is the movie about?
Set in the magical land of Oz, Wicked is a prequel to the legendary Wizard of Oz, drawing on L. Frank Baum’s famous novel and the iconic 1939 film. Cynthia Erivo plays Elphaba Thropp, destined to become the famed Wicked Witch, while Ariana Grande plays Glinda Upland, later known as the Good Witch of the North. The film will be a two-parter, with the first part just entering theatres.
