[passenger/locomotive] One year after the accident: The Gotthard Base Tunnel back at full capacity

On 10.08.2023, a goods train derailed inside the world’s longest railway tunnel. It took almost 13 months to fully repair the damage so that the Gotthard Base Tunnel could again be used at total capacity. On 02.09.2024, it was re-opened, ending a period with fewer freight trains and up to 75 minutes of extra journey time for train passengers.
