For new trains, new numbers have to be fixed. Most companies have an internal numbering system, which they must combine with European standards. In particular, the (former) state-owned companies have their systems that have been the same for decades, and there is still no deviation from them. This also applies to Spanish railways Renfe, which currently schedules the new class numbers for the various passenger trains presently being developed. An overview:
