On 12. 06.2024, SBB put the procurement contract for 116 new double-decker trains out to public tender. The trains will be deployed on the Zurich S-Bahn and in western Switzerland in the 2030s. Interested rolling stock manufacturers have until the beginning of 2025 to submit a bid. The contract is worth billions.
