Not only on the networks Franconia-South Thuringia/Franken-Südthüringen and Danube-Isar/Donau-Isar, but DB Regio will use Desiro HC on a third “Netz.” The official order has been published:

On 22.04.2024, Siemens Mobility received an order for six more 5-car Desiro HC trains from DB Regio for the Werdenfelser Land network in Germany. The new trains will run on the route Munich—Garmisch-Partenkirchen—Mittenwald.
The EMUs will be supplied with ETCS, and the order includes a spare parts supply package. The Desiro HC trains will be equipped with ski racks for the first time. The new trains are scheduled to be delivered in 2028.
Deutsche Bahn’s third Desiro HC order follows those for the Netz Franconia-South Thuringia and the Netz Danube-Isar.
This is the situation of DB Bahn’s Desiro HC delivered/on order:
- 18x 4-car Netz Franconia-South Thuringia;
- 8x 6-car Netz Franconia-South Thuringia;
- 25x 4-car Netz Donau-Isar;
- 6x 5-car Netz Werdenfelser Land.
