SBB Cargo International is a heavy user of SBB Cargo’s class Re482 electrics. We have seen some visual reminders of this fact in the past. It started in 2011, with locomotive 482 011 getting ‘fährt für SBB Cargo International’ texts on its sides. Now it is time for a bolder move, and the recent repaint of 482 020 in Dessau is the perfect opportunity:
You may have seen this locomotive in the past months in just red and blue, as it hauled trains in Germany between the painting and wrapping. It gave a hint to what was to come: The Alppiercer Original design:
The well-known black masks, Swiss mountain landscape with the piercing white lines, names and icons in silver – named ‘Europa’. The Traxx even has its own Swiss crosses.
What is different is the #BorderlessSwissQuality claim replacing the main logos. It communicates SBB Cargo International’ future and their vision to the world in a long-term and sustainable manner prominently along the north-south corridor.
