With the recent transfer of four AC1s to Pressnitztalbahn, SBB Cargo has 31 locomotives left in its fleet of this type: 482 000-030. Like with the 484s, SBB Cargo is bringing a bit more colour variety to their 15/25kV-Traxx fleet. 482 012 and 020 are examples of this. Here is a little recap of where the SBB Cargo 482 fleet originates from and where they are now:
- Batch 1 = 482 000-009 delivered in 2002 – TRAXX AC1 DE-CH;
- Batch 2 = 482 010-014 delivered in 2002 – TRAXX AC1 – delivered ahead of schedule as DE-only – later DE-CH;
- Batch 2 = 482 015-030 delivered in 2003 – TRAXX AC1 DE-CH;
- Batch 2 = 482 031-034 delivered in 2003 – TRAXX AC1 DE-CH; now with Pressnitztalbahn;
- Batch 3 = 482 035-049 was delivered in 2006. TRAXX AC2 DE-CH > all sold to either Nordic Re-finance and IRSI.
