2024 is the year DB Cargo will start using the new Dual Mode Light locomotive generation. Over the past few years, Siemens has been preparing for deliveries using a fleet of six pre-production machines, a sextet we could only recently complete. New is locomotive 249 005 in this list. It recently visited the Wegberg-Wildenrath. 249 003 is the one that looks slightly different with its green stickers. Also note that 005 is the first one with D-DB markings, instead of D-SDEHC:
So far, six different ‘Vectron Dual Mode Light’ locomotives have been seen:

The expectation is that these machines will now be sent out to different depots of DB Cargo Deutschland for tests and training. In 2024, series delivery will start.
