After having spent 17 months in Wegberg-Wildenrath, 249 001 and 002 have left the Siemens test centre, heading for DB Systemtechnik in Minden – Below, you see them in diesel mode:
The locomotives made the trip running light. This transport follows a week after 249 003 (with green DB stickers) was sent to the VUZ Velim test centre.
So far, six different ‘Vectron Dual Mode Light’ locomotives have been seen:
- 90 80 2249 001-9 D-SDEHC = Z001 = Siemens 23059 / version H01 = DB Cargo DE 249 001 > MMAL 20.05.22 / red
- 90 80 2249 002-7 D-SDEHC = Z002 = Siemens 23060 / version H01 = DB Cargo DE 249 002 > MMAL 20.05.22 / red
- 90 80 2249 003-5 D-SDEHC = Z003 = Siemens 23061 / version H01 = DB Cargo DE 249 003 > MMAL 30.05.22 / red / Innotrans with ‘Das ist grün’ stickers
- 90 80 2249 004-3 D-SDEHC = Z004 = Siemens 23062 / version H01 = DB Cargo DE 249 004 > MMAL 31.05.22 / red
- 90 80 2249 005-0 D-SDEHC = Z005 = Siemens 23063 / version H01 = DB Cargo DE 249 005 > MMAL 10.06.23 / red
- 90 80 2249 006-8 D-SDEHC = Z006 = Siemens 23064 / version H01 = DB Cargo DE 249 006 > MMAL 29.08.22 / red
The expectation is that these machines will now be sent out to different depots of DB Cargo Deutschland for tests and training. In 2024, series delivery will start.
