Poland has been standing firmly by Ukraine ever since Russia started its unjust invasion. PKP Cargo is no exception and to express that, the Polish state-owned freight operator has recently decorated one of its Vectron locos with a Ukrainian motif.
Railcolor thanks Marcel Adamkiewicz and Uwe Wabnitz for sharing their photographs of the locomotive.
Even the smallest details can make a huge difference. A PKP Cargo Vectron in a seemingly default livery has been given a small but meaningful update. EU46-504 (193 504) got special garlands with the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
The minimalist design builds upon the existing PKP Cargo livery. The flag ribbons have been elegantly placed to the left and right of the operator logo on each side. Notice the asymmetric composition which extends all the way to the cabs:
The locomotive was seen with its modified outfit already in the middle of September:
