On 07.06.2021, an ICNG EMU came to Belgium, for the first time. Unit no. 3301 was taken to Brussels where the authorization testing will start.
3301 was first seen in 2020, and it is the first interoperable train of this type, that will be used for passenger services between Brussels and Amsterdam. They rolling stock currently in use (ICRm coaches) is due for replacement in 2025. This will also mean that the leased TRAXX MS2e locomotives on the ‘Benelux’ service will have to be redeployed.
