The passenger division of the Bulgarian state railways (BDZ PP) is expanding further its ambitious and long-awaited fleet modernization project. We already know that the operator is looking to buy brand new electrics, as well as used and newly produced passenger cars. Now, more rolling stock is being added to the list: brand new EMUs and locomotives for hire are wanted. Last but not least, BDZ PP has finally found a contractor for the significantly delayed overhaul of its Siemens Desiro EMU and DMU fleet. We bring you an updated overview of all recent developments:
