The Sihltal Zürich Uetlibergbahn (SZU), operating public transport in the Swiss canton of Zürich, has ordered 5 new EMUs from Stadler Rail. These will be used on the for the Uetliberg railway line
The Sihltal Zürich Uetlibergbahn (SZU) runs trains on two normal gauge railway lines, each with a different voltage system:
- the Uetlibergbahn powered with 1200 V DC;
- the Sihltalbahn power by 15kV 16 2/3Hz AC.
