SBB passenger services and Stadler Rail have signed a contract for the delivery of 7 long-distance FLIRT EMUs. The future “Mouette” trainsets are to be deployed on the route between Berne and La Chaux-de-Fonds, which will be designated as IR66.
Today Stadler announced that it will be supplying seven long-distance FLIRT EMUs to the passenger division of SBB. The trains will be used on the Berne – La Chaux-de-Fonds line, which SBB will take over from BLS in December 2020. The privately awarded contract also includes an option for 7 further trainsets.
