Today Siemens Mobility announced its second Smartron order: InfraLeuna will be receiving two copies of the standardised freight locomotive for the German market.
A further milestone for the Smartron is being set as Siemens secures a second order of 2 locomotives of the type. The client, InfraLeuna from Germany is not unfamiliar with the product as it was the launching customer for Siemens Vectron DE diesel locomotives.
The first operator that ordered Smartron locomotives is Eisenbahngesellschaft Potsdam. EGP will receive its first machines early 2019.
