On 08.08.2016, PIMK Rail Bulgaria accomplished it’s first revenue service, featuring the 5.6MW electric Siemens Vectron AC 192 962, acquired earlier this year. It is first modern electric in service of a Bulgarian operator. The 962 is also the first ‘Medium Power’ Vectron that was sold by Siemens.
The Vectron is nicknamed “Kalina”, a traditional Bulgarian female name. Overnight, it pulled a 615 m consist of 18 brand new piggy back cars between the cities of Septemvri and Ruse.
Built in VRZ-99 AD Septemvri, the Sdggmrss trailer wagons will be used for PIMK Rails’ cross border intermodal solutions throughout Europe. The delivery of the trailer cars marks another important milestone for PIMK Rail, with expectations for a second Vectron to join the PIMK Rail fleet soon.
