Metrans is a privately owned, intermodal rail freight operator in Central Europe. The company started in 1948 as a combined transport and terminals operator in the Czech Republic. Nowadays it is one of the more significant non-state-owned operators in Germany and Central Europe. Under the direction of HHLA (Hamburger Hafen and Logistik) it has been able to create a relatively large fleet of new locomotives directly bought from Siemens, Bombardier and Alstom. These machines are supplemented by a colorful fleet of rentals.
