Bombardier has been producing a 3kV DC-only version of its TRAXX 2E platform from 2006 until 2017. Such locomotives are in service in Italy, Spain, and Poland. All electrics were produced as F140 DC version, except for those delivered to Koleje Mazowieckie (KM) – a regional passenger operator in Poland. These 160 km/h-fast (P160 DC) locomotives are also the only ones that are equipped for push-pull service (with double-decker trains).
The new trains were needed to replaced aging EU07 electrics, that KM hired from PKP Cargo.
