ODEG – Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn has been awarded the contract for public rail transport of Teilnetz Westmecklenburg II by the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and VMV Verkehrsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The tender process began in the summer of 2023 and has now been completed. The new contract will cover 2.3 million train kilometres each year, improving mobility for the people of West Mecklenburg and securing jobs in the region. The agreement aims to provide a better service with a modern fleet of trains.
