On June 6, 2024, Ansfisa – the Italian National Agency for Rail and Road Infrastructure Safety – granted a Safety Certificate to ART – Altmann Rail Traction, valid until 05.06.2029. Now, the operator has released the first ART-branded locomotive:
On November 15, 2024, locomotive 494 571 was transferred from Piadena to Lonato del Garda in Italy’s Brescia province, home to the company’s headquarters. The Railpool locomotive was previously leased to Captrain Italia. Its silver body now prominently displays ART logos in green and yellow.
The company will begin its first commercial operations on November 25, 2024, transporting freight trains between Lonato del Garda and Piadena.
