Nexrail and the Italian manufacturer IPE Locomotori 2000 jointly present the IPE E6 NXRL locomotive. It is the first battery-only TSI-compliant shunting locomotive in the world and is destined to be a game changer in the market. With a 750kW power rating and efficient electric powertrain, it will be the most robust three-axle locomotive ever built. The battery, with a capacity of almost 1MWh, can be recharged in about 1 hour.

The initial authorization is planned for Germany, with other countries to follow. The first test locomotive will be unveiled at Innotrans 2024. Visitors can see it on Tuesday at 16:00 at the Nexrail outdoor display (track T5-55).

About IPE Locomotori 2000

IPE Locomotori 2000 was founded in the early 1970s to maintain shunting locomotives at ports, interprets, and large industries. In the beginning, maintenance work was done, and unused locomotives were bought and refurbished. Today, they are built from scratch, applying technological innovations of their own design.
