It has recently been trying to modernise its rail transport by investing in infrastructure, which is indeed more than necessary, and by modernising its fleet of electric locomotives and electric units. The trains are being procured by the Railway Reform Authority (ARF), a state-owned company that will lease the units and locomotives to selected operators.
