It is the pilot project for Voestalpine’s future scrap hubs: the Ennsdorf site. The Austrian steel manufacturer wants to be ready to handle large amounts of scrap in a relatively small area to feed the electric arc furnaces in Linz. Using digital processes, the amount of scrap that can be processed yearly will grow from 200,000 to 1 million tonnes.
