In the last 15 years, the TGV fleet has become increasingly international. More and more trains equipped for foreign systems are running between France and neighbouring countries, a phenomenon that will continue with the new TGV M, of which fifteen trainsets should become interoperable. As these sub-types of TGV and the associated international authorisations can be confusing, this is an opportunity to take a closer look at the different types of TGV that are currently in use:
