Alstom in Chorzów, Poland, has completed the first shipment of intermediate coaches for LNVG’s future Coradia Stream HC EMUs. The coaches are taken to Alstom’s Salzgitter plant in Germany for completion.
Alstom Polska in Chorzów builds 68 fully equipped single-deck coaches and the side walls for 86 double-deck coaches. In total, 34 trains are produced, which will be used for Expresskreuz Bremen/Niedersachsen (EBN) contract.
The delivery of new double-deck EMUs for LNVG has been delayed. Alstom was supposed to deliver all trains by mid-December 2024. But, in December 2022, the manufacturer told LNVG that only ten trains would be ready on time, thus forcing the future owner to revise its fleet introduction schedule. LNVG will still introduce the new trains in December 2024, but only on line RE8 (Bremerhaven – Hannover) and as a reinforcement between Bremen and Hannover.
