DB and Talgo signed a framework contract to deliver 100 ICE L trainsets in 2019. Until now, 23 of these had been ordered. On 17.05.2023, the Spanish train manufacturer announced that the German operator had placed the “largest single order in Talgo’s history” by adding more trains:
