Alstom, Verkehrsbetriebe Peine-Salzgitter (VPS), TU Braunschweig, WTZ Roßlau, the Fraunhofer Institute, and Robert Bosch Elektronik are teaming up to “set a milestone for the decarbonization of shunting traffic”. They are working together on the conversion of an Alstom H3 locomotive, enabling its combustion engine to run on hydrogen.
