Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen (LNVG) has accepted both of its new TRAXX AC3 electrics, which will be used by operator metronom Eisenbahngesellschaft.
Part of a bigger plan
Metronom, located at the German town of Uelzen, is active as a regional passenger operater in Niederschasen/Lower Saxony since 2003. It is known for its white-yellow-blue double deck trains built by Bombardier which are now in the center of a half-life upgrade/modernization project. Yet, extra, new rolling stock is also part of the modernization strategy. An overview:
